Apple’s AirPod series for iPhone and iPad users now covers the original AirPods, AirPod 2 and now the AirPod Pro range. The Pro models are shorter and chunkier with a better feel to them than their predecessors. They come in a larger-sized but still compact case compared to the earlier AirPods. Charging is via a Lightning cable, with different shaped cups in the package to suit your ears.
The AirPod Pro model’s major feature is the active noise-cancellation to keep out the wider world. They use smart technology to shut out regular or rhythmic noise, updating at 200 times a second to limit any intrusion, reducing other less predictable sounds making them barely noticeable.
The AirPod Pros also offer a better fit via the silicone tips than the other AirPods, with IP4 sweat and water resistance added for those willing to take their expensive new gadgets out on a bike ride, run or down to the gym.
Most people buy these to listen to music and Apple does not disappoint, using an adaptive equaliser that fine-tunes the low-range and mid-frequencies automatically. Custom high-dynamic-range amplifiers and low-distortion speaker drivers help deliver bass down to 20Hz.

Representing the state of the art when it comes to AirPods (until the inevitable AirPod 3 release), Apple has corrected everything that was wrong with the earlier AirPod models. They deliver great audio and peace-and-quiet when you need it, all in a highly desirable and comfortable package.
